It is, albeit rarely. The first recorder usage was in 1265, and in 2019, it was ranked 362 (with 645 girls being given the name), which doesn't seem very low, but much more people are given the most popular names in Poland than in the US. That being said, I don't personally know anyone with the name.

What do you mean more popular people are given the most popular names? Any nicknames used for it?

I mean a larger percentage of the population bears the most common names. My name was probably around #5 in my birth year, and 3/13 people in my Polish class (including me) are named Maria. There are also 3 girls named Julia in the same class. And no, there aren't any nicknames I'm aware of.

Right. I was looking at Polish stats of names and some are in the top 5 for decades.
