I don't like it much. While I know it's an old name, it sounds modern to me, and rather snobbish.

I went to school with a ton of Adrianas. It wasn't as common a name as, say, Ashley or Brittany or Emily, but I lived in a district with a high Hispanic population so a lot of girls were named Adriana, Mayra, and Araceli (the most common Spanish names among them). None of the girls named Adriana had a nickname - they were all called Adriana, and it wasn't difficult to say all at once despite being 4 syllables. It's a good, strong name to have.

I know two Adriana's, one of which gets called Adri, and the other is just Adriana on its own. IMO your nn suggestions are a bit much. I think that other relatives shouldn't be offended, that's pretty childish. And you could always use it as a mn, or use one of their names as a mn.

I wouldn't use it for your kid if you don't like Adri, because everyone would probably call her that. Maybe Rana would work as a nn, but Raina is more of a stretch. Adria, Adrian, Dria, Ana, and Riana would also work, but none of them would be as obvious as Adri.

I like Adriana a lot. I don't know that I would try to settle on a nn ahead of time; there's not very many that seem to come naturally, unless you want to use Addie or Ana. Your suggestions could work but seem a bit of a stretch.
I think it's a bad thing to worry so much about honoring so many family members that you hesitate to name after just one. I mean, what are you supposed to do, give her a long string of grandmothers and aunts' names and hope you didn't leave anybody out? Keep having daughters till you've covered everybody?

Adriana is a fine enough name. I think Rana and Raina would work, but they wouldn't be intuitive, you'd have to work at them. I would probably nickname an Adriana 'Anna'. As for honouring - it depends on how close you were to all the relatives concerned.

Adriana is nice and I love the connection to your grandmother, what is the other grandmother's name. Can you use it as a middle name or a shorter form. Im not sure of the NN you mentioned. What about the NN addy or adri
