[Opinions] Dietrich and Cormac
My husband and I kind of like Dietrich. But it's too close to Cormac, isn't it?
If we do go that way... any good NNs for Dietrich? Rick, Ricky, Dieter...??
Thanks!

Sorry but all I see is the words "Die" & "Diet".
I don't understand how Dietrich is close to Cormac. Something I must be missing there? I do find it amusing that you are wondering if two names are "too" similar when you apparently used the same name twice. Litterly.
I'm just saying.
Rick & Ricky are nice

I don't think they are too close for brothers at all. I know a Dietrich who goes by both Dieter and Dietz. If I was gutsy enough to use a name like Dietrich, I wouldn't wimp out and use a Rick or Ricky nickname. :)
Do you shorten Cormac's name?

Am I missing something obvious? I don't see even a hair of room for worry that Dietrich and Cormac are too similar.
Cormac is one of my all time favorite names for a boy. I'd use it tomorrow. So glad to hear you got the chance to use it.
Dietrich is nice, not a personal favorite, but still a strong classic. There's enough different sounds to keep it separate from Cormac under one roof, especially if you will use a nickname. From your list I'd use Dieter. Offering: Dirk. Good luck! :0)
