[Opinions] Destiny
My name is destiny and I like my name....I try very hard to achieve and want to be seen with intelligence not stupidity because of my name

Don't worry, most people will be able to look past stereotypes, see you for who you are, and judge you based on that, not their colored perceptions of your name. And if they can't, then bad on them.
I agree with kudriashkajo; it's your name, so own it! :)

Everyone gets stereotyped because of their name (that's one of the reasons I think names are so interesting). People are judgmental by nature. I think it's good to challenge people's assumptions, but you're never going to be able to please everyone anyway.
I'd like to think people I know in real life influence how I perceive a name more than my perception of a name influences how I see the person...but the important thing is that you like your name.
Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with virtue/word names.

People react to it negatively because it's new and seems silly. If a person is smart enough to be worth impressing, they'll judge your intelligence by your words and actions, not by your name. They'll forget their reaction to the name shortly after meeting you.
Using capitalization and punctuation might help your image more than a name change would.

Nobody should make another person feel stupid because of their name. I'm glad you like Destiny! Some comments on this website can be mean, I've even found it with my name.

Way to go. Good for you! It's yours, you may as well own it. If my name was Destiny, I would go by Dezi. Or maybe Denny.
Imani is much nicer

Generally, stereotypes are based on some truth. Just because you may not fit the mold may not change the perception of the name for everyone except those close to you.
Then change your name.
