"Word" is just a semi-facetious way of saying "I agree".. guess y'all don't say that in Australia.I think it started out in the 80s as some kind of rapper/hipster slang, "word up"? My memory is fading... someone younger could tell you better. Now it's just kind of facetious, rather than hip; all sorts of people say it in casual conversation.- chazda
