I really dislike Beatrice. I think of "beat rice" and of two frumpy old ladies (both very nice, though) who lived next door to us when I was a kid, in succession to each other. They both answered to "Beattie". (Our neighbour on the other side was called Gertrude ) One of them lived with her sister, Alice.

Beatrix is somewhat better imo (what a difference that x makes!)
