Before I opened your post, I also first thought of Darryl and Darryl, brothers of Larry, from Newhart. I think it's unusable for me just because it makes me want to giggle. In the bigger picture, as part of a generation that will probably never see Newhart, it's usable, but I don't much like the sound of it.
I think both Tina and Vance have a Darrylesque feel.

... and of course, w/ the plethora of blended fams these days, sometimes w/ both parents coming in w/ 1 or 2 children of the same name (usually more common names like Joshua or Rebecca though), it would technically be possible to get a "yours, mine and ours" situation where both parents came in w/ a son named Darryl and w/ a sick sense of humour decide that new baby together is going to be Larry... Or you could have Lara,Darla and Darla, which would be even more random since hardly anyone names their kids Darla.
