The name Aludra has been on my mind lately. It sounds really mysterious and alluring. The only thing is that it almost sounds too mature for a child, but then again, she could always go by a nickname such as Allie. WDYT?

I've always loved this name. It's so beautiful and...well...heavenly. :P

Allie is an adorable nickname.

How do you pronounce it? I can't decide between AL-uh-drah or ah-LU-drah.

I agree, it sounds mysterious and alluring, and beautiful. I also like constellation names in general, so... :)
It is mature for a child, but I think Allie would work. Allie sounds so preppy though... Ala? Audra? Lulu?

Lulu would work really well as a nickname for Aludra, but I don't really care for it for a person unfortunately.

I love Audra. I think I'd probably just go with Audra as a full name, though.

Ala is an interesting idea. It would be less popular than Allie and less expected.

I love Aludra. It does sound alluring and the reference to the star is lovely. If I used it I would skip the nickname Allie, though, and go with Lu or Lulu. I think it's slightly more interesting and appropriate, given the sound of the name.

I agree that Lu and Lulu would serve better as nicknames for Aludra than Allie. I wish I liked Lu and Lulu more, but I've never been overly fond of them for people. I like them for pets, though. My dog is named Lucinda "Lucy", and I call her Lu here and there.

It does sound mysterious and alluring, but I just don't like it. And it does sound dull and too mature for a little one.

It doesn't really sound like a proper name to me, more like a word. Maybe because it sounds so close to the word "alude". I also agree that it is a quite mature-sounding name, and I can't imagine it on a baby.
