In 2012, Dawson and Sherilyn host an exchange student for the year from the USA. 16-year-old Amelia Katherine, nn "Mia Kate", was a joy to have in the house and they feel it better prepared them for parenthood. They were sad to see her leave but are happy for the time they had with her.
In 2013, Dawson and Sherilyn welcome the birth of their first son. Breeson Gabriel was born with wavy red hair and brown eyes on November 15.
In 2014, Dawson and Sherliyn decide to take a vacation to Australia.
In 2015, Dawson and Sherilyn welcome their second son, a completely unplanned pregnancy as they had been figuring to wait a little while longer for another child. Edmund Zachary was born with wavy black hair and hazel eyes on June 26.
In 2016, a tornado hits the small town where Dawson, Sherilyn and the kids live. The damage was minimal to their house but the rest of the town took a pretty rough hit. Rebuilding will take months, probably longer.
In 2017, Dawson and Sherilyn adopt a boy from the Philippines. Jason Albert is 8 years old and has straight brown hair and brown eyes.
In 2018, Dawson and Sherilyn welcome the birth of their first daughter. Yesenia Brielle was born with curly black hair and blue eyes on April 22.
In 2019, Sherilyn accomplishes her long term goal of writing a novel to be published.
In 2020, Dawson and Sherilyn adopt another boy from the Philippines. Ryan Joel is fourteen years old and has straight brown hair and brown eyes.
In 2021, Sherilyn gets laid off of her job of writing articles for a magazine.
In 2022, Dawson and Sherilyn allow Breeson to adopt a pet snake which he names Fangs.
In 2023, Dawson and Sherilyn welcome the arrival of identical twin sons, Caleb Zander and Caedmon Zane. They were born with curly blond hair and hazel eyes on July 11.
In 2024, Dawson's job requires him to take a business trip to the Netherlands. He takes all the kids, minus Caleb and Caedmon, as a vacation of sorts.
In 2025, the family decides to volunteer in New Zealand.
In 2026, Dawson and Sherilyn welcome their first grandchild. Ryan and his wife Jessica welcome a healthy baby girl into their small family. Abriana Pier is born with straight red hair and brown eyes on February 10.
In 2027, the family takes a vacation to Japan for the summer.
In 2028, welcome the birth of their second daughter. Bailey Olivia was born with wavy black hair and brown eyes on March 8.
In 2029, Dawson and Sherilyn allow Yesenia to get a pet horse which she names Tallahassee.
In 2030, Dawson and Sherilyn adopt another boy, this time from India. Chander Durai is thirteen years old and has straight black hair and brown eyes.
