[Games] Re: Year game - go ahead and do how ever many years as you want
Our FamilyLN: VincentDH: Christopher Jacob [Straight Brown Hair, Green Eyes, High School Math Teacher] - 36
DW: Summer Jeanna [Wavy Strawberry Blond Hair, Blue Eyes, Nurse] - 36AS: Matthew Shun [Straight Black Hair, Brown Eyes] - 8
AS/AS: Jack Anthony [Straight Blond Hair, Green Eyes] / Noah Cooper [Wavy Brown Hair, Grey Eyes] - 4
DD/DD: Freya Joy [Wavy Blond Hair, Green Eyes] / Maisie Hope [Wavy Strawberry Blond Hair, Hazel Eyes] - 1Over the Years of Our Marriage1st Year: Right after our marriage, we moved into a house along the coast in Massachusetts, where Christopher was raised. For the first six months we lived in the honeymoon stage, until a drunk driver hit our car coming home from the theatre. Christopher suffered a broken arm, but I was taken into surgery. For a few days it was touch and go and the doctor's, my co-workers, feared for my life. I pushed through and am better, but the doctor's still feared we wouldn't be able to bare any children due to the location of my worst injury.2nd Year: Because of the fear of endangering me during child birth, Christopher and I decided to adopt. Always dreaming of having my own family, this was devastating at first. After discussion about it, Christopher and I decided we could love a child through adoption as well as our own. We decided to adopt from China. Originally, we thought we would adopt a baby girl, but we had said we would be happy to have a either a boy or a girl and we would be just as happy with a child with special needs. We figured that we wouldn't have what our own baby would be like and whatever happened was supposed to be. When we received a confirmation, we found we were placed with a year old baby boy who had a clef lip. A few months later, we flew out to China and picked up our new little boy who we named: Matthew Shun. We call him Matty. Right away, he had corrective surgery leaving only a little scar and is a happy little boy!3rd Year: The three of us had a fantastic year, even with Matty falling off the playset at his daycare and earning him a broken leg. With a big cast on, Christopher joked that people would think we were abusing him and the agency would come and take him back. Of course, his daycare provider felt absolutely horrible, but we understood that things like that happened and he was able to make a recovery- even if it did set him back in his sports career that Christopher is pushing!4th and 5th Years: Unfortunately, at the beginning of this year, Christopher's sister lost her husband. Living all the way in Australia, Chris felt terrible he couldn't be with her. Because she had school age children and the memory of her Australian husband there, Christopher asked if I would be willing to move our family to be close to her and help her with her family. After some deep thinking, I said okay. With only a three year old and jobs that can be found most places, I said okay. That began a huge move. Thankfully, the house sold fairly quickly and we were able to find a nice (and bigger) home near to his sister. Since we are closer to China, Christopher and I considered bringing another child into our family.6th Year: Getting a job was a bit tricker than we thought and Christopher wasn't able to get a job right away (part because we moved during the school year and part because of the job market at the time). Instead, Christopher worked on our land and in our house. Half of the year, he had Matty as his partner, but come the school year, Matty started his first year of school and he loves it dearly. Part of this work was making a garden and getting a pet goat. We've been using the goats milk to drink and make cheese. Its astounding how enjoyable it is to make your own food! We find that Matty, our picky eater, loves it too!7th Year: Like we had planned, Christopher and I adopted a set of boy/boy twins. This time, they stumbled upon us, quite literally! While at church, we discovered a family was foster the boys. When they found out we had adopted our son, they asked if we were interested in adopting again. With many children in the foster care system in Australia, it would be a fantastic thing for us to do for the boys and for us. We decided that we could add these two sweet boys to our family. Jack Anthony and Noah Cooper have been wonderful and are full of energy. Matty likes to keep them under his wing and the three play together fantastically! 8th Year: Almost a year since we brought the twins home, I began getting sick and feeling very weak. When I went in for a doctor's visit, I discovered I was pregnant. As I had been on birth control since the accident in our first year of marriage, Christopher and I were shocked. But, we felt that maybe this was God's way of saying we should have a child of our own. We decided that we would go through with the pregnancy, even if it would be risky. A few months later, we found out it would be twins and again we decided we would risk it for the children. Looking back, it was stupid, but the girls are well worth it. I went into labor at only 26 weeks and the girls barely pulled through. At the time, I might have been even worse. For a while, Christopher, Matty, Jack, and Noah almost lost all three of us. Freya Joy and Maisie Hope earned a place in the hearts of the hospital staff. Unfortunately, we still often see them because of the girl's weak lungs and immune systems. Maisie has a number of delays still, but they are both as happy as can be.9th At 8, Matty seemed old enough and mature enough to be able to go back to China and see where he came from. We decided to take a trip with just the three of us. We left the two sets of twins with Christopher's sister for a week trip. Matty loved it. He found that although he felt more at home in China than Australia, us being with him was more important. And we decided that our family, just the way it was, was the most important thing too. We were happy the way it was now and didn't need anyone else to make it better- unless, of course, fate decided otherwise later on.
