Too matchy for my liking. I like when multiples names either don't correlate, or start with the same letter. Anything more matchy than that... not for me.

Okay, but way too close. Then again, they were born a long time ago, so it was harder to come up with three separate names back then (due to a lack of the Internet).

They've survived to the age of 60 and they're clearly still talking to each other and to their relatives, so it must have worked just fine for them.

I don't enjoy any of the names separately, and though Alvin and Calvin rhyme for me, Melvin doesn't. I've only ever met a Calvin.

I actually wish people would just give their twins, triplets etc the names they like best, without trying to squash them into the same kind of box. Why would Alvin, Calvin and Melvin seem more like brothers than, say, Alan, Charles and Michael?

ETA: I've got a colleague named Malvin. Can't decide if Alvin, Calvin and Malvin makes the set better or worse!

I find it oddly endearing, actually. It's so dorky and sweet.

Would have been better if they were Melvin, Elvin and Kelvin.

The rhyming is a little bit too much for me. Plus, I've never liked the names Alvin and Melvin. However, I do like Calvin :)

Funny sibset, too themey for my liking. Alvin and Calvin are pretty bad, they should have used another -vin name (Edvin?).
Both Melvin and Alvin are very popular names here (Melvin is #24 and Alvin is #30) so I was suprised to see that these triplets were 60!

Alvin and Calvin are much too similar. I bet the parents regretted that one when it was time to call one of them and they both answered. Melvin is not as bad. I could live with siblings Melvin and Calvin. But throw in Alvin and the whole thing is too cutesy for me.

I hope they had a happy birthday. I don't think of triplets being in their 60's. Neat.

Haha! Oh, how I'd hate this on kids today, but I really can see it on 60 year olds. It's cheesy, unimaginative and there's not a name in the bunch I like, and I wouldn't condone repeating it, ever... but for some reason, something about it made me smile. I dunno. On this occasion, I think the somewhat novelty of it works, but I couldn't say why my initial reaction was this rather than the more logical 'argh'. Ha.

I wonder if Melvin felt left out as a kid and wished he was named Malvin. :-)
I think they are way to close for my liking, but they go together well, are all nice names, so it seems nicer than say Aidan, Braidan and Daidan.
