The royal family is on an extended ambassadorial tour to several of their neighboring countries. Prince Owen has been giving them trouble for some time now. He has not warmed to the twins as his parents had hoped. He's instead become more distant, aggressive, and hostile. During one uncharacteristically heated argument with his father, Owen disappeared and ran away at port. The family delayed their departure to look for him, but it all evidence suggested that he had boarded another ship and would not be found. The stress prompted his mother to go into early labor. With the assistance of on-board physicians, Princess Annalise Yordana Salome was born premature but healthy. Seeing his wife's pain did nothing to help the king's mood, and in the next port he officially relieved Prince Owen of his unofficial crown=princely rights including his fiance and transferred them to an unsuspecting Prince Riordan. Riordan loves his brother and his father and doesn't know what to do other than to try to be the man he's not expected to be.
