A lot has happened in the past three years. Ali's father's health took a rapid decline and she took a leave of absence from her job to be with him. Caleigh is in school on an athletic scholarship, Davis (who's girlfriend dumped him because she couldn't handle the difference) is about to graduate from culinary school. Emmett wants to go into business, Colin wants to become a lawyer and they both want to go to college together. They're still waiting to hear back from their schools. After Ali's father finally died she found out, to her surprise, that she had left her quite a lot of money in his will for sacrificing to take care of him. The family plans to use it to open a bed and breakfast. For Jeremia's 13th birthday Ariane arranged for the parents to adopt a cat (that she secretly wanted for herself). He's a shy little black fur ball named Baby Bear.
