I hadn't been feeling well for a while and the thought had occured to me to take a pregnancy test. Well it came up positive and I was shocked to learn that my suspicions were right and I was indeed pregnant. When Jeff walked in the door later that day I blurted out "I'm pregnant!!!!" Jeff looked at me for a while "Are you sure?" He asked, but didn't wait for a reply. He swooped me into a hug and I began to sob. "Why are you crying?" He asked me, "You want a baby don't you?" I nodded "I just... Don't know why I'm crying..." Then Maggie strolled into the room, I bent over to pick her up and she hissed at me "What (sniffle sniffle) is the matter with her?" I whined. Jeff laughed, "I think someone isn't too happy about getting a new brother or sister!" I smiled. Jeff always knew how to make me laugh. "Don't worry Maggz (sniffle sniffle) according to the calendar I'm only 5 weeks along, It will be a while before your little brother or sister will come" About 5 weeks later.... I was very nervous about telling my family about this pregnancy. It would be the first grandchild on my side of the family. On Jeff's side, it was a different story. His sister Hannah had two kids; A 5 year old named Alessandro and a 2 year old named Gabriela. As we were on our way to see my parents my nervous began spilling all over the side of the road. "It's going to be okay" Jeff said trying to comfort me. When I was finally ready to get back in the car it was getting dark. About half an hour later we arrived at my parents house over an hour late. "Where have you been?" My mother asked worriedly. "We were on the road." I answered. "For that long?" She asked and Jeff cut in "We had to make some pitstops, so where is everyone?" He asked. My brother Timothy and sister Elizabeth should have been their already along with Tim's girlfriend Laura and Ellie's boyfriend Tyler. "Didn't they tell you they weren't going to make it? Anyways what does it matter, you don't like Laura anyways..." I sighed knowing the part about Laura was true. We had been enemies since 6th grade when she tried to kick me out of the lunch table group. Then started fighting with my other friend Janie. It was a real shame, in my opinion, that my twin brother was wasting his time with her. "Well, we had an announcement to announce to the family but none of the family is here...." My mom inturupted "Tell me!" I shrugged "We're just going to wait till they get..." then mom inturupted me again. "Tell us, we want to know! Right Herb?" She asked my dad who just mumbled "hmnmn..." because he was too into football to even pretend to listen. Suddenly I felt sick, my stomache could just not agree with me, "I have to...." I tried to say I have to go to the bathroom but before I could finish speaking I started to taste my lunch again so I just ran to the bathroom. Jeff and mom ran after me but Jeff stopped in the middle. "Let's go back to the living room," he said "She'll be out shortly" after a while he talked her into it and then he came to check on me. "Are you okay Riley?" He asked me and I nodded. He helped me up and we walked back into the living room. "Riley are you okay?" My mom asked as we entered the living room "Yeah, I'm fine" I plopped down on the couch. "Are you sure? Why did you need to run to the bathroom?" I thought for the moment "I needed to use the restroom really badly" Well, that wasn't exactly a lie. "I thought you made several pitstops on the way.." Dad said his eyes glued onto the tv. My mom gave me a look that said 'What do you say to that?' I looked at Jeff and sighed "You can tell them if you want to tell them," he said "or I can if you want me to." He put his arms around me and I shrugged "You can tell them" I said. My mom intensly looked at him "Yes tell us" she said and my dad gave another "hmnmn" Jeff looked at me. "Well you guys can expect a little grandson or graddaughter in another 7 and a half months or so..." My dad's eyes left the tv and he looked at us and then down at my belly. "Really? You don't look pregnant. Infact you look a little skinnier to me." I laughed "Well I believe I am a little skinnier now than before, with all that..." Then I stopped myself I didn't want to worry them with my morning sickness issues. My mom came over and hugged me "This is wonderful," She said "But what were you going to say before?" I looked at Jeff "Uhhh nothing.." But then whatever was left in my belly decided to come up and I pushed my mom away and ran off. "Where is she going?" Mom asked. Dad was glued to the TV again. "To the bathroom," Jeff said and started walking towards the bathroom my mom followed him. When they got to the bathroom Jeff motioned for her to stay, "You can go back to the living room, she might be a while" Jeff said. My mom shook her head. "I want to know what's wrong." My mom said "Unlock the door" She pleaded to me. "She doesn't feel good," Jeff said. "Riley let me in!" I opened the door for him and he locked it before my mother could get in so she just waited outside the door and listened to us talk. "Do you want to go home?" Jeff asked me and I gently shook my head yes. After a few minutes I was back on my feet and I said goodbye to my mom and we went out the door. But just then Laura, Ellie, Tyler, and Tim pulled up to the house. "Hey Riley!" Ellie said and tried to hug me but Jeff stopped her "It's good to see you Ellie but we have to go..." Then we got into the car and drove home. The next dayThe next morning I went to work. I teach kindergarten and Laura teaches 6th grade (at the same school). "I guess I should congratulate you."
Then she snickered "My mom told you?" I asked her. She smiled "You guys should have been more careful..." Then another teacher named Georgia Patterson walked up. "What are you talking about?" She asked "Well if you must know..." Laura started "LAURA!" I warned but she continued "Mrs. Harper is pregnant." Then she left. Georgia seemed however more optimistic "That's great!" She said "But Why did you tell her first? Don't you guys hate eachother?" She asked. I sighed "That's what I get for having a brother." Later that dayWhen I got home I noticed there was a message left on my answering machine. "Hi, this is Ellie. I was just wondering if what mom said was true. Because if it is than that is great, well talk to you later." I smiled I loved Ellie she was so sweet. I would call her later becasue I needed a nap....

They haven't started talking names yet. Jeff wants a boy and Riley wants a girl, they want to try to wait to see the gender but probably can't. If I get bored Later I may add when we tell his family and when I call Ellie.
