Ooh, Amaris. I actually knew a girl with the name Amaris. She was a bit of a snob, though. But I think that came from shyness than anything else. Her middle name was Nicole. Yeah. 2nd hour History the ones in the back didn't really have anything better to do, and one day someone asked what everyone's middle name was. Why I remember hers, I don't know. Though teachers would typically call her "Am-uh-ris" on the first few days of school.
Maris is nice, but I would go with Amaris. Amaris Joanne

It's funny that Amaris isn't listed on this database. It was in the U.S. Top 1000 for 2008. :)

Maris was the name of Niles never seen ex-wife on the show Frasier. I have always kind of liked the name but wondered if that would stamp it somehow.Steph

Oh, okay! I don't think that that is a massive association then if it's just a never-seen character from a television show. I've never watched it myself. I doubt any of your daughter's peers would make the connection. :)
