[Opinions] Re: Zephyr
in reply to a message by BBH
My mum actually threatened to call me this if I had been a boy (only to get a rise out of my grandma though lol). The joke was that my dad's name is Mark, so I'd be Mark II Zephyr (apparently it's a type of car?). Anyway, my grandma was horrified because zephyr means wind and she was sure I'd be called 'fart' by the other kids.
I'm pretty glad I wasn't named that, but mostly because I'm not really a fan of the name. Most kids probably wouldn't know that zephyr was a kind of wind until they were too old for fart jokes.

No one is too old for fart jokes
Well, I'm not ;)
But as I said before, the wind connection is ripe for flatulence remarks but most people will have no clue about it.

that is some major reaching
Rubbish
I've seen Zephyr proposed a few times elsewhere and it got the fart connection albeit from die hard name nerds, immediately. Obviously those who dabble in toilet humour like me. In real life, I reiterate what I just said, most people will have no clue about the greek god of the west wind and his gusty tendencies, ergo it's not a problem. It just isn't.
If you'd read what I previously said, further down the thread, you will see that I like the name. I do consider it usable.
