I like Nigel quite a bit. It used to be on my list but I took it off since I figured Nigel would work on a non British child. Its still a great name IMO. I also love the feminine form of Nigella.

I think they're great. I adore Nigel, and Albert is kinda cute but I'm iffy about it. Contrary to making me think of old men, Albert reminds me of "Baby Albert" from the old fear conditioning experiment. It also makes me think of Fat Albert though. :-/

Nigel is slang for a loner here. Used like "He is such a nigel" or "If I do that, I'll look like a nigel"...so it is really not usable in Australia and that clouds my judgement. I think it is a horrible name.

I actually don't hate Albert. I find Albert in full a little stuffy and old man-ish but I adore the nn Alby for a little boy and that adoration redeems it for me. Plus, I know an awesome Albert who is my age and so I have a positive association.
