Welcome Simone, Amalia, and Mario!

One year later . . .
Simone, Amalia, and Juan are adjusting to their new life very well. To prepare for their arrival the whole family studied Spanish, and review French. All three children have taken to English very well. Amelia is homeschooling them along with our other children, and all three are nearly up to grade level.
Simone loves practicing reading in English and is very good at learning languages. Soon we will start teaching her Latin. She loves helping her siblings with their French. She also has been taking singing lessons and singing with the children's choir at our church. She is happy to be a part of a large family because she had no siblings back in France.
Amalia had the hardest time learning English or the bunch because of a slight speech impediment, but she has really progressed and has very little trouble now. She has some tantrums and acts out once in a while, but she is currently receiving counseling to deal with her abusive past. Most of the time, however, she is very loving and is constantly giving hugs. She also has a huge imagination and is always making up stories and games. She recently started taking ballet lessons and is excited about her first recital!
Mario is a very bright little boy and is already starting to learn to read. He also loves to be outside. He is always running through the vineyards and likes to help his dad pick grapes. He loves the horses and the dog and Garrett is teaching him how to horseback ride. Walden loves having a little brother, and he and Mario have become fast friends.
Our family is thrilled with its new members and we thank you for providing us with such happiness!
