Ick. I know an old lady whose nn is Cricket, her real name is Ollie. Her husband's nn is Tick, incidentally. Bugs, anyone?
Personally I find Cricket to be a goofy nn and not something that would work on an adult. Piper is cutesy to me, like a cat or dog.
