[Opinions] Mnemosyne and Mneme
Replies
I like both. I waver between favouring Mnemosyne nn Mneme or Moz and preferring just plain Mneme, but both are gorgeous :) I love the meaning, too - sort of a virtue name, but well concealed.
Mnemosyne Mai
Mnemosyne Alexandra
Mnemosyne Ruth
Mnemosyne Jean
Mnemosyne Eleanor
Mneme Jeanette
Mneme Clarissa
Mneme Lux

Mnemosyne looks sooooo pretty, but I just hate the pronunciation D: I wish dearly that it were NEM-oh-zeen, but I know that's a complete slaughtering of it.
Mneme is great, and I love the meaning. She would have trouble in America, but then again, so would a child with a lot of my favourite names. You have no idea how joyous I'd be to meet either.
Edited to add the spur-of-the-moment, totally and utterly Greek combo Mnemosyne Io.

I don't like them.
They are difficult to pronounce, and not very pretty.

I love it! So much. I wish I had the guts to use it. Maybe I'd use just Mneme (I say it the same way as you, by the way), but I really love it as a nn for Mnemosyne.
Combos are kind of hard but I'll try:
Mnemosyne Laura
Mnemosyne Petra
Mnemosyne Julie / Julia
Mnemosyne Jean
Mnemosyne Liv
Mnemosyne Marta
Mnemosyne Margaret
Mnemosyne Lila
Mnemosyne Cyra
None of these are *really* popping out at me, but good luck to you! =)

Mneme definitely works as a NN for Mnemosyne. I like the prn, but when I look at both names I immediately think of the word mnemonic (which, from the meaning of Mnemosyne, I guess is related), which is not a very lyrical or name-like concept for me lol. I like Mneme more on its own, it's a bit less complex and doesn't look like a scientific procedure. It also reminds me of Naomi, which I like.
Mneme Cate
Mneme Claire
Mneme Lene (LAY-na)
Mneme Rosetta
Mneme Zara
Mneme Lenka
Mneme Aoife
Mneme Chloe
Mneme Alice
Mneme Sarah
Mneme Flynn (I know it's a boys' name, but I've always liked it for a girl)

They're names that I love the look of far more than the sound. D: Like they should be silvery-sounding fishies, and then they just aren't, when I say them. The same is true of Ariane.
Speaking of fish, Mnemosyne Coral comes to mind. :D Mnemosyne Dahlia? Mnemosyne Kestrel, Mnemosyne Hana, Mnemosyne Lenore, Mnemosyne Livia, Mnemosyne Edith.
