In my accent (Australian),
Isobel and
Isobel are pronounced:
'I' as in t
in,
'S' as in la
ser
'O' or 'A' as in zebr
a or li
on - this is a neutral unstressed vowel sound known as a schwa (usually written 'uh' on BtN).
'B' as in
bird
'E' as in b
ed
'L' as in
leg
So, yeah - exactly the same when said out loud. But they sound different in my head :-D
