I've always really disliked Lynn as a girl's name because I think it's terribly unfeminine. On the other hand, I think it's far too accepted as a girl's name to make it viable for boys. I believe any boy named Lynn is going to be in for a hard time, and will be teased for having a girl's name, and run into the very problems that Siri described her father as experiencing.
Unless I'm mistaken, Lynn started out as a boys' name. If it hadn't been hijacked by girls, I think I would actually like it as such.
