I'm far too addicted to Star Trek to view this name as anything other than the name following "Beam me up".

In that case, completely OT:Original or Next-Gen?? :DI have a weakness for Patrick Stewart, but on the WHOLE I prefer the original Enterprise crew. Have you seen the movies? Which do you like? (WHY does everyone like the stupid sentient-whale one; see I can't even remember the number I disliked it so much.)

I have to admit that I prefer to watch Next-Gen (and Voyager, which is even harder to admit to), but I'd like to love Original. I just can't take the "ancient" effects and all that, but I do like the plotline. However, I did like the movies based on the Original series better. I like the stupid sentient whale one, but it's definitely not my favorite. I *think* my favorite is the one about the Genesis project and the "new" Spock and all that - it's been so long since I watched the movies I don't remember any titles or numbers.

Huh! Two is the Genesis project (The Wrath of Khan!!) and it's great; three is "the Search for Spock" where they bring him back to life (and I'm not even putting a spoiler warning because, really, this is star trek. anybody who actually clicks this post is either not gonna care or will already know *g*) Most people HATE searh for spock. I thought it was hokey but fun... I just couldn't get past the back-in-time sentient-whale-aliens of four (The Voyage Home). We own them and I admit I just peeked. >.>

So completely off topic...Wouldn't a whale alien be a whalien? Hehehe. Of course, I have no clue what you're talking about. Just had to post about the whaliens.

I think One and Two, then.Three is third. :) I loved the whole concept in Four that it was possible to go back in time by looping around the sun - wtf?

I know. It reminds me of the Superman movie where he personally spins the globe by flying really fast to go back in time. I hated that. Have you seen First Contact? Now THAT was awesome!! Cromwell as a drunk Cochran, so much fun.

Yeah, I've seen that, but I was in the hospital on some serious drugs at the time so I don't remember it too clearly. Is that the one where Deanna Troi got drunk and Riker found her and said she was blended or something...?

Yep. :Dit was fun. I also liked The Undiscovered Country where Shatner hands off the reins.

*nods*Yeah, that was good too. LOL, I thought they were all good, other than Nemesis, which I have yet to see. I do know all the major spoilers, of course. :)

Strangely enoughthat was my introduction to Star Trek! I had a trekkie friend and he drug me to the pre-opening night screening; we had free tickets so I didn't care. I didn't hate it, but I had no idea about the Star Trek world or culture at the time, so I had no idea why everybody else hated it. It got me interested, at least. :D Then I married a trekkie and was subjected to the movies and some of the episodes - I want to see more of the actual shows but we can't afford to buy them right now. (The Borg is SO COOL.)

I ♥ Borg! That's one major reason I love Voyager so much; I love the Borg.

When it gets THIS off topic...Move it, please. :-D And btw: The only decent show was Deep Space 9. Period. ;-)

I knew someone would say it. *eyeroll* (If we were still going, I would think it was quite valid to say it, but the convo was very clearly OVER.)I thought of PM'ing but we were so close to done at that point I didn't bother; if other people wanted to chime in I'd have taken it to the lounge. DS9? You kidding me? :D (haven't actually SEEN DS9, but that seemed like an appropriate response; *tongue-in-cheek*)
