[Opinions] WDYTO Marlene?
I've been reading a novel with a character named Marlene, and the name is starting to grow on me. I like the Mar-leen-ah pronunciation much more than Mar-leen. So, what are your thoughts on the name? Cute? Dated? What are some combos you can think of?

I think it's a bit dated. I'd probably jump I'd be surprised if I heard this on a child today.
I agree that the Marleenah prn is better than Marleen. I could see it growing on me; I definitely like it for someone else.
I love it spelt Marlena.
I very much like Mar-LAY-na, but I think "Marleena" might be the most troublesome pronunciation of all. "Marleen" is a normal English pronunciation of the word, and "Marlayna" the German one (OK strictly speaking it's that continental 'eh' sound rather than 'ay'), but I find it hard to get "Marleena" out of the letters Marlene.
"Marleen" sounds dated but "Marlayna" seems elegant and pretty. I'd use it as a middle name to eliminate the pronunciation issues.

I love Marlene pronounced mahr-LAY-nuh! Absolutely adore it. Don't care for mahr-LEEN, so obviously the name is not usable for me. Marlene "No, it's mahr-LAY-nuh" would get punched in the face. I might use it for a middle name, though. Have some combos, off the top of my head:
Marlene Katherine
Marlene Eloise
Marlene Judith (I like this with either Judith pronounciation)
Marlene Bianca
Marlene Blythe
Marlene Cécile
Marlene Edith (again, both pronounciations)
Marlene Ilana (is this good repetitive or bad repetitive? I think good)
Marlene Hedwig / Marlene Hedviga
Marlene Léonide
Marlene Johanne
Judith Marlene
Anna Marlene
Léonide Marlene
Livia Marlene
Linnet Marlene
Jeanne Marlene
Joan Marlene
Do you like any?
