Even if it's just my internet alter-ego :)
After using it as such for several years now, it's actually grown on me as a real name. It's a girl's name to me, but then I'm not American so Blythe, along with Meryl, Alison and Marion are all female.
My favourites are Marion Blythe, Margot Blythe and Margaret Blythe, Frances Blythe and Roberta Blythe.

I am not American either but...I guess it just isn't me. The only reason I said anything is 'cause there seems to be female Blythe mania at the moment and I wanted to let it be known that not EVERYONE loves the name. Sorry if I put it a little harshly.

and can you link me an example of a male Blythe? It never occured to me as a male name until I saw it listed as such here.

Well, I had never seen this name on the boards until about a week and a half ago, and I only knew of it as a name before that because I had a feeling it existed and typed it into the search box. I saw it was Masculine and thought, yup, it is all right. Then it started popping up all over the place as a female name and I got...perplexed.
Your right, I have never heard of a male Blythe, but I haven't heard of a female one either, so...*Shruggs*
Btw, What is it that makes you like the name Blythe for a girl? I just want to know so that I can understand better (Not meaning to sound rude, I'm just curious)

Basically, it's one syllable and I like the associations with the name. It's the only "modern" name on my list, and I probably wouldn't use it because of that lack of history, but there just aren't that many short, non-cutesy names for women- Clare, Jane, Eve, Anne, Maud, Laure- all of which I love, but the only one I could actually use is Jane (or Jean or Joan).
