[Opinions] Re: Persephone

I kind of like Persephone, but I can't stand the nn Sephy. (Or Sopie or Steffie, for that matter.) My husband used to know this very irritating woman named Sefany, who went by Seff, and the association has kind of rubbed off onto Sephy.
I went to elementary school with a girl named Persephone. As far as I remember, she went by her full name. Her mother had to correct the teacher several times on how to say the name, as I recall. The poor child happened to be deaf, so I can't imagine a more difficult name to give her.
I can see Persephone working, but I also foresee a lot of spelling and pronunciation issues.
