I dislike Nick for personal reasons, but I HATE the name Nate. Nathan is cool, Nikolai "Nik" is cool; Nick and Nate are boring and over-used.

I really love Nicholas and Nikolai, and nn Nick is okay. But I have always loathe Nate. I love Nathan though, no nn.

On their own, they are really boring, overused and I don't like either.
