Stendahl is Swedish (old spelling) for Stone-valley.

Thanks... :D Then I was right... I thought of the german element "stein" and the... is it Old English or from Denmark or Holland? and the "Dahl" like in "Roal Dahl"... But now you confirmed it through Swedish... :D THANKS :D

Well, I was talking about StenDAHL.
Stendal is also used.
But is Stendhal a Swedish surname? I doubt it.
