I personally love William. For several years it was going to be my first son. I met my boyfriend just over a year ago, and he was saying the same thing - William is probably his all time favorite name.
However, it's been sliding on my list. I dont really care for it much anymore. I still love the name, but I love so many, and William is on the downhill. However, I keep it because its the only fn Craig likes with Emmett, and I would love to use Emmett.
I think a LOT of names go with William. Personally, think of the kind of combo you want - very popular (William David), Royalish (William Edward), or a mn a little less on the classic side (such as Emmett - or you could even find a name that is less trendy).
