These are my children,
Jasper Vincent Archer
Smith and
Naomi Victoria Megan Smith "
Jasper and
Naomi".
You say: Hi,
Jasper. Hi,
Naomi.
You think: What a mouthful! It's not
too bad, and they're all nice names, but it's a little much all together. Why not leave it as
Jasper Vincent (or
Vincent Archer) and
Naomi Victoria?
Jasper and Archer in the same combo has a little too much of the "-er" ending anyway, and
Megan just doesn't seem to fit with
Naomi and
Victoria (or her brother's names)--it's too trendy and boring to fit.
These are my children,
Joel Ezra Thaddeus Smith and
Margot Victoria Eve Smith "
Joel and
Maggie".
You say: Hi,
Joel and
Maggie.
You think: Wow, the rhythm in
Joel's name is great! JO-ul EZ-rah THAD-ee-us
Smith. I don't know about
Maggie's though...Eve kind of gets swallowed up between
Victoria and Smith--or mashed up against
Smith, which is worse.
Eve Margot Victoria Smith (
EVE mar-GO vic-TOR-ee-ah smith) would flow better (though the rhythm would be awfully similar to her brother's). Still, it's not bad.
