There's actually a trilogy out called The Bartimaeus Trilogy... Bartimaeus is a djinni. I've only read the first book. It's aimed at a slightly younger audience, but it's not bad. Anyway, that's what I think of when I hear the name. It's not bad. I don't think I would use it personally - it seems more suited to a character for me. But I like it well enough.
