I think maybe it's associated with strippers, etc. because it sounds like bimbo, and also because tv shows and movies have perpetuated that connotation for this name by naming promiscuous/ ditsy characters Bambi. I think of the deer and cartoons and bimbos. People will not actually think that a child IS promiscuous because of the name, but the connotation may be transferred to the person who named them, and also the child will grow up at some point. I just think it's a bad idea all around because it has an extremely strong association, at least in the American culture.
