[Facts] Re: Can't find origin or meaning
My daughters name is also Adia. When I was in college, we had two nun activists come and speak to our group. They were talking about the meanings of names and mentioned this one. They said that it is Swahili and means Gift or present from God. It is used in the Bible and also referred to as Sunday (the 7th day when God rested). I hope that this helps. I think that your daughter has the most beautiful name, and I am sure that just like my daughter she is a true Gift from God!!!

I don't know any Swaheli, but I agree that "gift from God" is indeed a very beautiful meaning to that name.
In the bible you won't find ADIA though. There is ADA (adornment), but I don't know in what language ADA od ADIA may be refered to as the 7th day. Maybe Swaheli?Andy ;—)
