I don't like Alan as a first name either, but I have come to like it as a middle name but only spelled Allen because it's a family name.

I too think Alana is a beautiful name, I pronouce it uh-lon-uh. I know a little girl named Alana who's brothers are named Noah & Sebastian and I think that's a really cute sibset.
