It sounds like a combination of
Sue and
Ella to me, too.
I've known a couple of girls named
Suellen, who've said that their name was simply their parents combining
Sue and
Ellen.
Edited to add: I didn't realise that
Suellen was in the database. The entry says that it's a combination of
Susan and
Elinor, and has a literary origin. Suella could therefore be a shortening of
Suellen as well as a separate creation.
