Elma is my favorite soundwise, although I think Elmira is prettier, and I wonder if it's too close to Elmo (I would love Elmo if not for Sesame Street). They do remind me of elms, and I like Elm as a NN generally. I also like Telma / Telmo.
I've met a teenage Alma before. I think she would be about 20 now. I think the meaning is lovely, but it still seems a little clunky to me (Salma seems smoother?); I probably associate almanacs and almsgiving more than anything else...I could maybe warm up to it some, if I used it regularly.
The various meanings of Ilma are interesting but again, I don't like the sound much. I feel like it'd be most fun as a NN for Ilmatar.
