I think its the BER part that sounds off to me. I'm not sure. The name feels dated, but not really in the endearing way "vintage" way. I also don't like Kim or Kimber, but Kimmy is cute. I do prefer the Kimberley spelling. It seems more femine somehow. I also think its cool that this was popular for boys for a short period. It reminds me of bEverly in that way, which I might also prefer to Kimberly.
