I like Ellen, as I do nearly all Helen-related names, but it's definitely not my favourite among them, as it feels a little dated in a way that doesn't feel vintage quite yet, and just a little bit boring and also seems like it's overused in the middle name spot. Overall it's a nice name though and maybe in 10-20 years would be ready for a comeback, given that El- names are so popular. I think Nellie is an adorable nickname for Ellen.
