Hormisdas Eliseus Barre (22) is Evelyn's boyfriend. He is of mixed black and french ancestry. His dad was a scholar of Zoroastrianism, which is why he was granted with his first name. A full time dad, he is very stressed, with no free moments. Before he was a dad, he was a barista.

Zoish Manizeh Barre (19) is Hormisdas' little sister. Zoish is a freshman film student, with hopes of becoming a cinematographer. While Zoish is not a devoted Zoroastrian, she hasn't entirely left the faith, unlike Hormisdas. She's currently rooming with her high school best friend at Barnard College. They're both trying to stay in touch with the close-knit friend group they had back in San Francisco, but with all of them scattered across the country, it's proving increasingly difficult. Often, Zoish struggles with feeling like she's abandoned her family and friends by leaving for New York instead of attending one of the many film schools in California, but she knows she did the right thing by choosing the college that was the best fit for her.
