[Opinions] Re: Some Spanish names
Araceli is the name I went by in Spanish class. It'd be high on my list if I were actually going to change my name...so obviously I like it, but I think it's also dated.I prefer Eufemia (and f spellings to ph in general - which applies to Ofelia and Serafina) to Euphemia...it just looks cleaner/crisper/brisker. That said, I do slightly prefer Epiphany to Epifania: I think because I appreciate the added dimension of it being a recognizable English word to me. But Epifania is pretty, too. Reina is nice, but I prefer Raina.I've been infatuated with Emperatriz before, especially when it's combined with something botanical or colorful or visually evocative, but I think it's the name of a Mexican soap opera?I like Candelaria because of the sounds and because I like holiday names, but I think in a Spanish speaking context Candelaria (as opposed to Candela by itself) might sound hyper religious/traditional.I like all the other ones, except I don't think Luz or Socorro sound great in an English context, and I'd prefer Elmira to Elvira because of the "mistress of the dark" character.
