Bobby and Brie met after Bobby was called to the hotel Brie works at to remove a child who had been abandoned there. Brie had been watching the little boy, and she and Bobby started talking while Bobby waited for clearance to take the boy to a local foster home. Bobby returned three weeks later to see if Brie wanted to join him for coffee--which she agreed to! The two of them dated for eight months before Bobby proposed. The couple was married six months after that. Brie moved into Bobby's two bedroom apartment--much more spacious than her studio apartment.

Bobby and Brie have had an eventful year! Brie transferred to a new hotel that opened nearby--the only problem--she now works the night shift. She and Bobby fought a bit about that, but eventually Bobby relented when he saw how much Brie enjoyed the new job. Two weeks after she started the new job, Brie found out she was pregnant! That caused another little argument, since Bobby didn't think Brie should be working the night shift while she was pregnant--messing up her sleep cycle and all; however, things blew over and Brie gave birth to a healthy baby girl they named Rowan. Rowan is a happy child with blond ringlets and big brown eyes. Brie keeps her at home during the day, while Bobby takes the nights while Brie is at work--they only spend from 5:30-10:30 pm together and a brief "hello!" at 7:30 am, but they're making things work.

Brie found out she was pregnant a second time when Rowan was four months old, and her sister, Abbie, was born just after her first birthday. A new coworker is starting next week, and Bobby hopes that the workload will be a bit more evenly distributed afterward.

Bobby and Brie are both of the opinion that kids should grow up around animals--this year, they got the girls a goldendoodle for their joint birthday party. He is a loveable dog who is wonderful with the girls. His name is Max. Fortunately, the apartment complex allows pets; however, Bobby and Brie have started looking for a house that has a yard Max can run in and the girls can play in.

Rowan and Abbie are delighted that their daddy is around more often to play with them and take Max with them on walks.

This year, Brie took a part-time weekend position as a medical secretary--she enjoys the time working with adults again, and Rowan and Abbie like spending play days with some of the neighbors--Brie works Saturdays and Sundays from 8-3 and the girls stay with Bobby, unless he has a weekend on-call, at which point they stay with a neighbor if he gets a call and needs to be away for a few hours. Fortunately, Bobby and Brie purchased a house in a small San Jose suburb on a street with about four other families with children Rowan and Abbie's age. The girls were quick to make friends and are always asking to visit their friends or have them come over to play with Max.

After two months of tantrums every morning, Bobby and Brie decided to keep Rowan back a year and start her in first grade with Abbie next year. Brie found a new job again this year--working only on weekends when the rest of the family was home wasn't working well for them. She now works at a family practice as a receptionist, but works days from 8 till 4:30. The girls are both in school now from 7:15 till 3:45, and they stay at one of the neighbors' houses until Brie gets home at 4:30. Bobby gets home about an hour afterward, and they enjoy family time together each night and on the weekends.

She was in the hospital for three days and missed two weeks of school. Rowan was a bit lost without her sidekick, but made it through okay. Max was a good companion to Abbie while she was sick.

Big changes happened in the Simmons family this year--in addition to a move to Anaheim, a transition for Bobby to a new office, and a new baby! Brie did not get a new job in Anaheim, since she was five months pregnant at the time. Rowan and Abbie are in fourth grade this year, and enjoy convincing people they are actually twins. They are also enamoured with their new sister, Kari.
