[Opinions] Re: Dominic, Robin and Mason
in reply to a message by Ninor
Dominic is very handsome and masculine. I'm not wild about the nn Dom, however, I do like Nic and even Nico.Robin doesn't seem very masculine to me although I realize it's a long-established nn for Robert. I think the main problem is that if I saw the name written without knowing the person first, I'd have no idea if this person was male or female (which might be a good thing as far as the person was concerned). If I saw Robyn, I'd assume the person was female. Then again, I don't care for this spelling. On the positive, Robin is short, sweet, and easy to pronounce.Mason is just a trendy surname (with usually no familial connection). It doesn't even sound pleasant to me. Then again, occupational surnames rarely do.Re: associations, I've never known anyone with any of these names although I imagine there are quite a few little Masons where I live."Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
