My thoughts are that these aren't French names:
Cabot
Theo - popular in France, but still not French
Talbot
Kane
Travers
Neville
Zuri
Forrest
Fae
Halette - INSEE had no instances of this, & nor does any French historical data. All hits for it are in the US.
Beau
Bale
Corbin
Ila
...and pretty much what Perrine said about most of them. (I like Neville, Luc, Fleur & Zuri)
Someone posted about a similar list last year and I'm fairly sure that had Bale and Cabot on it too. I suggest the writer buys a new baby name book, preferably from the actual country they're writing about! Or, you know, actually does some research :)
