Filipino nicknames are great, right? So random and quirky.
If the nickname is not directly related to the name (i.e. JoJo for Josephine or something), it could be a sound or title that is just repeated. Think of Johnathan nicknamed TanTan (my nephew).
BapBap might be because the person was the youngest in their family and "bap" is like baby sounds. Like "goo goo ga ga" in English.
Weng Weng is easy though, because Weng is an endearing term for a brother. Not the oldest brother though. We have a friend (Joey) who is called Weng by his friends.
Jing would be similar for girls. Though, I have heard JinJin more.
My husband really, really wants to call Nadine DinDin. I said no, but he says "My NaDinDinDin!" to her in a singsong voice all the time and she loves it.
