The first Jade I ever knew was a boy but I think he'll have it hard now that it's so common as a girls' name.

I think Jade sounds a bit down market on a girl, but it's kind of cool on a boy. That said, I agree that the "girls' name" thing could be problematic.
I've already suggested Tobias William. I think it sounds great on its own, but the last name starts with a W. I don't mind the alliteration, but I don't know how they feel about it, just that William wasn't a front runner. Thanks though!
