I'm more used to Zelig, still pronounced ZEE lik rather than ZAY lik but with the Yiddish spelling. (I think! This is based on lots of elderly gentlemen when I was very young.)

I don't enjoy the echoing E sound in the first syllables. And I have difficulty in thinking of a Felix saying anything other than "Meow".
