[Opinions] Re: Sybil and Ronan
Sybil Johanna is SO BEAUTIFUL. It is unbelievably classy and elegant. I think it goes great with Lennon too. Really offbeat and hip. Ronan I think is a bit too evocative of Lennon. There is something that trips me up when I say "Lennon and Ronan". However having a "Lennon and John" is probably not a good idea...so in that case Ronan John is the clear winner! When I first saw the thread I thought it was "Sybil and Roman" and got really excited - what about Roman?

We chose the name Ronan because of it's meaning "little seal". Our son Lennon was named after our first trip together when we went to London. We visited Abbey road (among other things). We both love traveling, and the memories we have together from our adventures.
A few years later we went backpacking through Ireland. We met an older woman who we kept running into in each town and hostel. When we ended up in Doolin (my husband's ancestral village) we ran into her again on a ferry doc. She pointed to the water and said "look at the little seal", it was very cool. When we finished watching the seal we turned around and she was gone. It was very bizzar because there were not many people on the doc. We both always talk about it and wonder what happened.
So, my point is, Ronan has a special meaning to us that brings cherished memories every time we think of it (as does Lennon). So, if we do not use Ronan we have to choose another name that has an equal amount of meaning to us. I have been to Rome, my hubby has not. We both however have degrees in Classical History. So that could be the connection. What about Remus?
Sorry, I am sort of thinking aloud as I am writing. I see your point about Ronan and Lennon being similar. I will have to talk to the hubby about that and see if he sees it too.
How is Lennon and Remus? Is Remus to "out there"?

Ohh yes that is a good meaning then. I like that story a lot. Hmmm, I can't argue with a story like that.I don't think Remus is too out there, I think Lennon and Remus sound really nifty, but Bear did point out that there is an unfortunate social association with Remus - Uncle Remus. I'm not really familiar with it, but maybe others will be. Ask around, see if Uncle Remus comes up.
