[Opinions] Re: Help with Russian family in story

Very nice names.
Just a note about Oksana, it's a Ukranian name, so you won't hear it a lot in Russia unless you're close to the Ukraine-Russia border. Though, if you're story takes place in a town close to the border, I suppose it wouldn't be at all strange to have a character names Oksana. :)
Here are the name combinations that I like for the characters:
Vladimir
Yekaterina nn Katya
Mariya nn Masha
Vladimir
Aleksandra (I know you didn't have this name listed, but a Vladimir and an Aleksandra just kind of "go" together for me)
Mariya nn Masha
I don't think it would be too far-fetched to name the main character's child after Vlad's deceased daughter if she had a more common name, such as Mariya. Perhaps instead of calling her Mariya or even Masha, you could use another pet form like Marishka, Marichka or Mashenka.
A couple of other name suggestions: Irina and Zinaida.
Let us know what you decide! :)
