Elsa, nn Elsie, was my #1 girl's name until Niamh nudged her out of top spot. (Elsa Charlotte, Elsa Catherine and Elsa Caroline were my favorite combos.)
Nn Elsie is darling, spunky and nostalgic. Elsa is musical and elegant, without being long and complicated. And since it's a family name for you, that only adds to the appeal.
I don't see Elsa becoming a top 100 kind of name. But that's a good thing in my book. :-) Elsa is one of those names that when you hear it, you say to yourself, "Elsa! Now why didn't I think of that?"
