[Opinions] It beats Phyllis, Adelaide, Bertha and company (m)
in reply to a message by Lily8
I find those examples excessively doddery and crypt-keeperish (although it's a general dislike of some of the sounds too)
I have a fascination with Beulah but I'm not altogether fond of the sound either. It isn't a name I would ever entertain. The name is unheard of here so there are no strong or even mild associations.

Id actually take Phyllis and Adelaide anyday over Beulah
same here, they're much more useable
Me too. I like both of those names.

So would I. Adelaide is actually becoming quite chic again.
There are lots of "chic" ugly names I'd rather avoid :)
I think I'd walk off a cliff before using Adelaide but differing opinions make the board go around and it's nice to be the odd one out sometimes. That said, I couldn't really take Beulah either. Fascination is not the same as appreciation.

I personally think Adelaide is rather appealing (if not my own style).
